About The Nookie Nook

A note from our founder

Here's something that shouldn't still be true in 2025:

Some of the most important conversations about human health, relationships, and intimacy are still being hidden. Shadowbanned. Flagged. Buried by algorithms that treat curiosity about sex like a violation.

Meanwhile real people are building real products to help real people have better sex, deeper relationships, and healthier intimate lives — and nobody can find them.

That's why The Nookie Nook exists.

I'm Ali.

I'm not a clinician. I'm not standing at a whiteboard with a pointer. I'm the curious friend who asks the question everyone in the room was already thinking but nobody wanted to say out loud. The one you call when you need an honest answer instead of a comfortable one. The one who will absolutely bring it up over drinks — or sparkling water, depending on the day.

I've spent years exploring the world, studying sex education, and having the conversations most people quietly avoid. What I've learned — from research, from travel, from lived experience, from the thousands of questions people have trusted me with — is that almost everyone is carrying the same secret:

They wonder if they're the only one feeling what they're feeling.

And the answer, almost every single time, is: you are so not alone. You're just missing a place where someone will actually tell you that.

Over the last decade an entire universe of sexual wellness information, products, services, and expertise has quietly flourished — and just as quietly been suppressed. Good information, hidden away. Brilliant creators, penalized for talking openly about human biology. Companies building genuinely life-changing products, unable to reach the people who need them most.

It's absurd. And it needed to change.

The Nookie Nook is a safe space — for everyone.

For the person Googling their most vulnerable question at midnight. For the sex therapist who can't run a straightforward Instagram ad without getting flagged. For the intimacy coach whose best content keeps disappearing. For the small brand that spent three years developing something that genuinely helps people, and can't find a platform willing to feature it honestly. For the boutique hotel designing entire experiences around connection and pleasure, with nowhere appropriate to talk about it.

This is that platform.

We cover sexual wellness products, services, and companies with editorial honesty. We explore how cultures around the world approach pleasure and intimacy — because those perspectives are genuinely fascinating and wildly underreported. We publish the questions people are too afraid to ask out loud. We curate the research, the news, and the conversations happening in this space right now.

And we do all of it without shame, without an algorithm deciding what we're allowed to say, and without ever talking down to you.

I don't have all the answers. I'm exploring this alongside you — with curiosity, with compassion, and occasionally with a lot of humor — because some of this stuff is genuinely funny, and laughter is its own kind of relief.

A quick note on the name — because we love it and we want you to love it too.

A nook is a cozy, tucked-away corner. The kind of place you go when you want to think, explore, or just feel safe for a minute. And nookie? Well. You know what nookie means.

Put them together and you get a warm, curious, judgment-free space dedicated to one of the most human things there is — intimacy in all its forms.

There's also something else. Think about a library. Floor-to-ceiling shelves. Quiet corners. All that accumulated human knowledge just waiting to be discovered. The Nookie Nook is that — a curated library of sexual wellness information, honest recommendations, and real conversations that are usually hidden, suppressed, or just impossible to find.

And if we're being honest? Libraries have always had a little something extra going on in the back stacks. You know exactly what we mean.

You deserve honest information. You deserve to find the products and people doing real work in this space. And you deserve to ask your most vulnerable question without feeling like something is wrong with you for having it.

Welcome to The Nookie Nook. Pull up a chair.

— Ali
